Six Albums To Get Excited About in 2020

25 February 2020

As festival season approaches, we’re rapidly updating our favourite playlists in an effort to keep up. While we wait for festival season 2020 to kick off, we’re also hotly-anticipating these yet to be released albums. From disco-pop princess Dua Lipa to Adele’s surprise return, these are all the albums coming out in 2020 we can’t wait to get our hands-on.

Future Nostalgia, Dua Lipa

Coming to headphones near you on April 3, we’re got alarms set for the drop of Future Nostalgia. After getting a taste of what’s to come from the hit Don’t Start Now and Physical, we’re expecting these tracks to be our go-to amp up tracks before a night out.

Adele, Adele

If anyone can make you feel feelings you never knew you had, it’s Adele. However, everyone’s favourite crooner has been on hiatus for a white…well until now. Attending the wedding of former Maccabees guitarist Hugo White’s, Adele let slip that we won’t have to wait too long for more. In fact, there’s an album due in September. The timing couldn’t be more perfect since Mercury just went into retrograde so you might need a good breakup song earlier than you think.

R9, Rihanna

In case you haven’t looked at her Insta comments recently, Rihanna’s fans are eager for some new music. However, let’s get real. Rihanna is busy owning the fashion world RN so we’ll allow her a little leeway with the wait time. RiRi did tease a collab with Pharrell Williams just last week so we know something is on the way.

Map Of The Soul 7, BTS

RM, Suga, Jin, J-Hope, V, Jimin and Jungkook kicked off 2020 by announcing their brand new album: Map Of The Soul 7. The 20-track album includes collabs with some Aussie notables including Troye Sivan and Sia. The album has already sold four million pre-orders so don’t expect BTS to slow down anytime soon.

Untitled Album, Normani

We don’t know much about Normani’s hotly-anticipated album yet. However, if Motivation is anything to go off, her first solo album is going to be the Noughties RnB throwback we’ve been waiting for.

White Hot Forever, Lana Del Ray

Even though she’s just released Norman Fucking Rockwell!, Lana Del Rey has confirmed there is another record on the way. Titled White Hot Forever, the singer said we’ll be treated to a “surprise release sometime within 12 or 13 months”.
