Curve Vacation Outfits

Q: What should I pack for a vacation?

Fewer pieces, more outfits, that’s the golden rule. Start with two or three dresses that go from beach to dinner, add a matching set or two for coordinated looks with zero effort, a cover-up for the pool, and one standout piece for the night you go all out. Stick to a cohesive color palette so everything mixes together, then add sandals, a tote and simple accessories. Do that and you’ll get dressed in minutes every morning of the trip.

Q: How do you dress for a beach vacation as a plus size girlie?

Easy, breezy layers over your swimwear. A cover-up dress in crochet or linen throws straight over your bikini or one-piece for the sand and the beach bar. A floaty maxi handles lunch and daytime, and a lighter dress with a sandal works for evening. Keep the fabrics natural and the shapes relaxed so you stay cool. Add a straw hat, a tote and slides and you’ve basically packed the whole beach wardrobe.

Q: Can you re-wear the same pieces on a trip?

Absolutely, that’s the whole point of packing smart. Choose versatile pieces in a matching palette and they’ll mix into loads of different looks, a set worn together one day and split up the next, a dress worn down for day and up for night with a heel and some gold. Nobody’s counting, and you’ll travel lighter and stress less. Re-wearing is a flex, not a fail.
