Off The Shoulder Women's Tops

Q: How do you keep an off the shoulder top from falling down?

The eternal question! Good news: a well-cut one basically stays put on its own. Look for an elasticated or grippy neckline (some have a silicone strip along the inside seam) that sits snugly across your arms so you’re not tugging at it all night. Sizing right helps too, go too big and it’ll slip. For support without visible straps, a strapless or adhesive bra is your best friend, or a bandeau under more relaxed styles. Then you can forget it’s there and actually enjoy yourself, no sneaky hoisting mid-conversation.

Q: Can you wear an off the shoulder top in winter?

Absolutely, and it looks surprisingly cute in the cold. Reach for a knit off the shoulder for proper cosiness, then layer cleverly, a long coat or an oversized blazer over the top keeps the neckline on show while the rest of you stays toasty. Loop a scarf around your neck, add tall boots, and pop a strapless base layer underneath for extra warmth. Bare shoulders aren’t just a summer thing, they just get a winter wardrobe built around them.

Q: What hairstyle looks best with an off the shoulder top?

This is the fun part. An off the shoulder neckline is basically made for an updo, a sleek bun, a claw clip or a messy French twist all show off your bare shoulders and neck beautifully. A few soft, face-framing tendrils keep it romantic. Prefer your hair down? Sweep it over to one side so a shoulder stays on display. Add a pair of statement earrings and you’ve got a whole look going on from the collarbone up.
