16 Great Valentine’s Day Date Ideas

01 February 2018

Well guys, it’s officially February, which means it’s the month of Cupid, overpriced roses and cutsie cards. Valentine’s Day is less than 2 weeks away and we’ve got 16 great date ideas either for you and bae, or you and your BFF – it doesn’t really matter, VDay is all about celebrating love in all its forms!

#1 Wine & Paint Class

Yes, they exist and they are SO MUCH FUN! In Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, there’s Cork & Chroma, but put ‘wine and paint class + your city’ into google and you’ll find one for sure. 🍷🎨 The perfect date for you and the gals as it involves wine and laughter but you’ll also learn something new and walk away with a questionable great piece of art!

Tip: For something more romantic with bae, why not try it out home… 😏

#2 Epic Blanket Fort

Take the whole ‘Netflix and chill’ concept to a new level by creating the ultimate blanket fort. Think fairy lights, cosiness, treats, and a great film; then add in some sexy lingerie to amp up the tension. 😉😋

#3 Dance Class

Nothing makes me feel more uncomfortable than the concept of a dance class, but if there’s ever a time to try – it’s Vday. Why not try hip-hop or pole with the gals, or salsa with bae. Make sure you wear a flirty red skirt for the occasion. 💃

#4 Home Cooked Meal

If you’re busy/CBF like me, you probably don’t cook very often. Treat yo loved one/s to a delicious meal and make it even more spesh with a grown-up set table – linen, candles and all. Check out this website for yummy AND healthy recipes.

Tip: If you can’t cook, Uber eats will save your ass.

#5 Indoor Picnic

If the weather is shit, you don’t know how to cook, OR just really want to stay in – an indoor picnic would be gloriously delightful. Make an epic cheese board (watch our ‘how to’ vid here), throw down some cute Turkish towels, and pop a few bottle of champagne.

#6 Cocktail/Cooking Class

Whatever your preference, it’s a great night out with your gals or your man. Make sure you check reviews before you book one, you don’t want to end up at a dodgy class with a creepy instructor.

Tip: You can eat and drink so it’s kinda an ideal sitch.

#7 Karaoke

Not just fun in a group sesh, why not serenade each other with your fave love song? Worst song choice has to buy dinner afterwards!

#8 Escape Room

If you have no idea what an ‘escape room’ is, well, that’s ok cos’ neither did I. But apparently, they’re all the rage so it could be a really fun night out. An escape room is basically a physical adventure game in which the players solve a series of puzzles and riddles using clues, hints and strategy to complete the objectives at hand and get the feck outta there.

#9 Couples Massage

Ok this is my ideal/fave date by far. Bloody BLISS. If you’re ever in Bali, you need to get the couples massage (or any massage lol) at Jari Menari, it’s the best thing ever, they legit have dancing fingers. Anyway, unless you happen to be in Bali for Vday, I’m sure your local massage place offers them, try it, they’re fab.

#10 Yoga

Friend: “What did you do for Valentine’s Day?”
Me: “Not much, just the downward dog.”
Friend: “Oooooo kinky.”
Me: “No.”

Try hot yoga and get sweaty or just traditional to improve flexibility for later… 🤭

#11 First Date

This is such a cute idea! Recreate the first date you ever had with bae for ultimate nostalgia and #feels. Extra points if you can remember/find what you were wearing!

#12 Weekend Getaway

ROAD TRIP! Head somewhere you either a) have never visited, or b) is a fave spot of yours. Enjoy some couple time with food, wine, banter and sexual stuff. Put your phone down and try to actually focus on the person you’re with, rather than listening to the latest episode of #girlboss radio (as good as it may be).

#13 Go Clubbing

You read that right! Get your drink and dancing shoes on and head out to your favourite club (unless you live in Sydney and have zero options anymore). Pretend you don’t know each other and are just drunken strangers who fancy the pants off each other. Make sure you have a good grind sesh on the d-floor and don’t forget a dirty pash.

#14 Staycation

Have a holiday in your own city! Do the touristy things you’ve always wanted to do, but haven’t bothered with. You’ll fall in love with your city all over again. I actually really need to do this as I’ve lived in Sydney for over 10 years now yet have never walked over the Harbour Bridge OR Bondi to Bronte.. 😳

#15 Wine Crawl

This is a classier version of a traditional bar crawl. Map out what wine bars you want to go to, pop on some glad rags, and get drinking!

Tip: For a fun twist take a bunch of topics and pick one at random to discuss at each new location.

#16 Comedy Night

This is a fail-safe date option for gals night, Vday with bae, or first date and you don’t know WTF to do. Enjoy some laughs and drinks with a great atmosphere.
