How do I dress for a rehearsal dinner? What is the dress code for rehearsal dinner?

Rehearsal dinners exist in that perfect middle ground where you're celebrating but saving your full power for tomorrow. Smart casual means polished midi dresses, tailored jumpsuits, or elegant separates that look considered, not thrown together. Cocktail attire brings the glamour with satin finishes, elevated silhouettes, and jewellery that catches every angle. Let the venue guide you: beachside rehearsals call for breezy maxis and relaxed fabrics, while a restaurant with a wine list longer than your guest list demands that Sofia Richie level of refined elegance. Brides typically go for a white rehearsal dinner dress that feels bridal-adjacent without the full ceremony pressure. Everyone else in the wedding entourage? Avoid white and lean into pastels, jewel tones, or sophisticated neutrals that photograph gorgeously without competing.

What should the bride wear to her rehearsal dinner?

This is your moment before THE moment. A white rehearsal dinner dress for the bride keeps things traditional while giving you creative freedom: sleek satin midis for understated luxury, romantic lace maxis for timeless elegance, or a slip dress that channels "I'm getting married but make it cool." Want coverage? A rehearsal dinner dress with sleeves brings sophistication and works beautifully for cooler evenings or more formal venues. If white feels too expected, ivory, champagne, or blush deliver bridal energy with more personality. Match your dress to your wedding's vibe: laid-back beach ceremony? A casual rehearsal dinner dress in flowing fabrics makes sense. Formal black-tie affair? Go for luxe materials and clean, architectural lines. This isn't a trial run, it's its own event. Wear something that feels like you, not like you're auditioning to be a bride.

What should I wear to a rehearsal dinner for different seasons?

Fall rehearsals are peak romance: burgundy, forest green, rust, and jewel tones in velvet or structured satin that feels substantial. A rehearsal dinner dress with sleeves is practically made for autumn. Spring calls for optimism: soft pastels, floral prints, and lighter fabrics that move with you. Summer means strategic dressing: linen blends, cotton, or lightweight slip dresses that keep you looking polished while everyone else is melting. Winter rehearsals give you permission to go full drama: long sleeves, rich jewel tones, and luxe fabrics that photograph beautifully in low light. But here's the thing: seasons matter, but so does location. An outdoor garden rehearsal in spring has completely different requirements than a cosy Italian restaurant in winter. Factor in temperature, setting, and lighting when you're choosing your outfit.
