Question 1

What do you wear with a plus-size sequin skirt?

Accepted Answer

Keep it simple and let the skirt be the moment. A fitted bodysuit or a tucked-in tank balances the sparkle up top, then add heels for a night out or boots and a leather jacket when it’s cooler. Silver and black sequins go with almost anything, while a bold colour looks great with a plain black top. For daytime, a mini sequin skirt with a simple tee and sandals is unexpectedly cute. The skirt carries the look, so everything else can stay easy.

Question 2

Are sequins comfortable to wear?

Accepted Answer

More than you’d expect. Most sequin pieces have a soft inner lining, so you get the shine on the outside without the scratch against your skin. For a long night, look for a smooth lining and a bit of stretch so you can dance, sit and actually enjoy yourself. A well-fitting sequin piece feels great, so don’t let the sparkle put you off. Comfort and glam are not mutually exclusive.

Question 3

Can you wear sequins in the daytime?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely, and it’s one of the coolest ways to wear them right now. The trick is to dress them down, so a sequin skirt with a plain tee and flats, or a sequin top with denim and trainers. Keeping the rest casual makes the sparkle feel intentional rather than over the top. Sequins have officially escaped the New Year’s-only rule, so wear them to brunch, a concert or just because. Sparkle is a mood, not an occasion.
