Skater skirts are all about that fitted waist and flippy, full hem. Inspired by the skirts worn by figure skaters, their circular shape creates movement with every step. Showpo’s collection of women’s skater skirts gives the signature silhouette plenty of personality through denim, lace and sequins. Find romantic florals for daytime plans or high-waisted minis with extra volume for going out. This playful shape is ready to spin its way through wardrobes across Australia.

How to style a skater skirt?

The best skater skirt outfits keep the waist defined and let the flared hem do its thing. Pair a high-waisted denim style with a fitted baby tee and sneakers for an easy daytime look. A tucked-in tank works just as well when you want something a little cleaner. Keep your top close to the body or choose a cropped length so the skirt’s shape does not get lost. For dinner, style a black godet skirt with a bodysuit and strappy heels. The fitted top balances the extra movement through the hem. A sequin skater skirt already brings plenty of shine, so finish it with a sleek cami and a compact shoulder bag. Bubble hem minis look especially cute with a corset top because both pieces create a sculpted silhouette. When styling a floral or linen-look skirt, lean into its softer mood with a halter top and flat sandals.

What styles of skater skirts are available at Showpo?

Showpo puts a fresh spin on the classic skater silhouette with minis designed to flare away from the body. Denim skater skirts have a structured high waist before opening into a full hem. Mid-blue washes bring a vintage mood while light-blue denim looks fresh for daytime dressing. Godet panels create even more movement with ivory and black sequin finishes made for party plans. Bubble hem skater skirts exaggerate the volume with a rounded edge. Pleated cord and corduroy designs give the silhouette a more structured finish. Shirred yokes and ruched waistbands create softness around the top of the skirt before falling into a flouncy hem. You will also find asymmetric lace minis that offer a modern take on the shape. Floral prints suit the skirt’s playful movement while linen-look and crochet styles bring a relaxed summer mood. Black and white keep things versatile. Pink, lilac and sage make the shape even sweeter while orange and rust add warmth.

What pieces complement a skater skirt?

Complete your wardrobe with fitted women’s tops and sleek bodysuits. Corset tops offer a more sculpted option while crop tops pair naturally with high-waisted silhouettes. Add ballet flats, heeled boots and compact shoulder bags to your rotation for plenty of outfit-building options.
