Question 1

What are knit tops?

Accepted Answer

Knit tops are exactly that: tops made from knitted fabric rather than woven, so think ribbed, fine-gauge or cotton-knit styles with a bit of natural stretch and a soft, close feel. They range from tanks and short sleeves to long sleeves and off-the-shoulder styles, and they're loved for being comfortable, flattering and easy to layer year-round.

Question 2

How do you style a knit tank top?

Accepted Answer

A knit tank is the ultimate layering piece. On its own with tailored pants and sandals it's an easy warm-weather look; under a blazer it turns office-ready; layered over a shirt or under a slip dress it adds texture. Keep the jewellery simple and let the ribbing speak for itself. A fitted knit tank with high-waisted jeans is the failsafe off-duty combo.

Question 3

Can you wear a knit top to work?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely, a knit top is one of the easiest office pieces going. A fine-gauge knit in a neutral, tucked into tailored pants or a midi skirt with a blazer, reads polished and pulled-together. Stick to smooth, finer knits for a more corporate setting and save the chunky, cosy ones for casual days. Add loafers or a low heel and you're set.

Question 4

Where can I buy knit tops in the UK?

Accepted Answer

Our knit tops are online at Showpo in tank, short sleeve, long sleeve and off-the-shoulder styles, in sizes 4 to 20 including plus sizes. The Size Guide helps with fit (knit sits close, so it's worth a look), the Returns Policy keeps swaps easy, the Shipping page has free-over-£100 and express timings, and the Blog has knitwear styling ideas.
