Question 1

What do you wear under a lace dress?

Accepted Answer

The aim is always a smooth, seamless base. For a sheer or open lace dress, a slip dress or bodysuit in a nude or matching tone keeps you covered without interrupting the pattern. A black lace dress looks sharp over a simple black slip (instant monochrome), while a white lace dress sits best over nude or white. Want more shape? A lace corset dress over a matching bralette and high-waisted briefs gives coverage where you want it. Match the underlayer to the lace, and let the detail do the rest.

Question 2

Are black lace dresses in style?

Accepted Answer

Always! Black lace is a genuine forever piece: sexy but versatile, and never really out of fashion. It moves easily from a dinner or cocktail party to a formal event, and the cut sets the tone, a black lace mini feels flirty while a black lace maxi feels black-tie. Black and lace together just work: flattering, a little sultry and endlessly re-wearable. If you only buy one lace dress, make it a black one.

Question 3

Can lace dresses be worn casual?

Accepted Answer

Lace reads dressy, but it takes to casual styling really well. Throw a denim or leather jacket over a lace dress, swap heels for white trainers or flat sandals, and add simple everyday jewellery. A lace slip with a chunky knit over the top is a great day look, and a lace mini with boots feels cool rather than fancy. The fabric already feels special, so the rest can stay relaxed.
