Corset Dresses

Q: How should a corset dress fit?

It should feel snug and secure, but never uncomfortable, you want to breathe, sit and dance with ease. Go with your usual size and check the product details for the fabric and fastening, since some styles have a little stretch and others a fixed structure, which changes how they fit. If a dress has a lace-up or adjustable back, you can fine-tune it. The right fit feels secure, not restrictive.

Q: Can I wear a corset dress to a formal event?

Definitely, it comes down to length, fabric and finish. A floor-length corset dress in satin or a structured fabric reads formal and elegant, while a shorter or more casual one suits cocktail and party dress codes. Match the dress to the invitation, and the corset bodice brings built-in drama to whatever the occasion calls for.

Q: What can I wear over a corset dress?

A cropped jacket or an oversized blazer is the easy one, instantly cooler and a touch more covered. A sheer shrug or a fine cardigan softens a going-out look, while a tailored coat works over a longer style in cooler weather. Pick a layer you can slip off once you’re inside and ready to dance.
