What’s it about? This Pulitzer-prize winning novel hit me right in the feels, so fingers crossed the star-studded movie does it justice. It’s about a teen called Theo Decker who is sent to live with a wealthy Upper East Side family after his mum is killed in a bombing. He was there when it happened. He’s haunted by the loss and can’t let go of a painting that reminds him of her. Eventually, that heartache leads him to the criminal world, and we’ll leave it there…
Who’s in it? Nicole Kidman, Luke Wilson, Angel Elgort and Sarah Paulson
When will it be in cinemas? October
In the meantime, read: The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah, All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr

What’s it about? You probably remember this book from year 8 English. It’s a classic story that follows the four March sisters – Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy – as they grow up and find their way in the world. They might be sisters, but they’re all very different, and chances are, you’ll love one and want to punch another. I can’t wait to see Harry Potter star (and style icon) Emma Watson on the big screen again, along with the OG: Meryl Streep.
Who’s in it? Emma Watson, Meryl Streep, Laura Dern, Saoirse Ronan and Florence Pugh
When will it be in cinemas? December.
In the meantime, watch: Any Keira Knightley movie (the gal may be typecast, but she’s good)

What’s it about? After her family dies in a plane crash, Stephanie Patrick (played by Blake Lively) is grieving when she finds out it wasn’t an accident. She takes on a new identity and tries to track down the people who were responsible. But that’s not all: to make sure she’s ready for her revenge mission, she joins an intelligence agency and trains as an assassin. If you’re a fan of thrillers and Lively’s perfect locks, you’ll want to save a seat for this one.
Who’s in it? Blake Lively, Jude Law, Sterling K. Brown
When will it be in cinemas? November

View this post on Instagram mini review wednesday —> where’d you go bernadette. i picked this one based on your recommendations! i feel super behind in reading it since it came out a while ago, but happy i did. fast read. finished it in a few days. it surrounds an imminent family trip to antarctica, requested by their daughter bee. bernadette was kooky, but had this insanely creative heart which made me love her. she did cringeworthy things and sometimes was so disconnected from the world, but she always kept it real. storyline was good, but ending wasn’t what i was expecting. giving this one ✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼(yes, no stars here for rating systems. only ✌🏼). What’s it about? A mystery and comedy, this book is great – and judging by the cast, the movie going to be a must-watch! Here’s the gist. Bernadette Fox is a genius with anxiety, a family, and an upcoming trip to Antarctica. Right before the trip, her neuroses get the better of her and she disappears – leaving her 15-year-old daughter, Bee, with the task of finding her. While she’s piecing ghe clues together, she uncovers a lot of secrets about her mysterious mother’s past.
Who’s in it? Cate Blanchett, Kristin Wigg, Emma Nelson, Judy Greer
When will it be in cinemas? August
In the meantime, read: Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng, Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman.
View this post on Instagram Five feet apart: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ . . Book description: Can you love someone you can never touch? Stella Grant likes to be in control—even though her totally out of control lungs have sent her in and out of the hospital most of her life. At this point, what Stella needs to control most is keeping herself away from anyone or anything that might pass along an infection and jeopardize the possibility of a lung transplant. Six feet apart. No exceptions. The only thing Will Newman wants to be in control of is getting out of this hospital. He couldn’t care less about his treatments, or a fancy new clinical drug trial. Soon, he’ll turn eighteen and then he’ll be able to unplug all these machines and actually go see the world, not just its hospitals. Will’s exactly what Stella needs to stay away from. If he so much as breathes on Stella she could lose her spot on the transplant list. Either one of them could die. The only way to stay alive is to stay apart. But suddenly six feet doesn’t feel like safety. It feels like punishment. What if they could steal back just a little bit of the space their broken lungs have stolen from them? Would five feet apart really be so dangerous if it stops their hearts from breaking too? . . My opinion: i really liked this book. It had 275 pages so that isn’t much but i prefer that. I liked the story alot. It was a special kind of romance and the end is alright but it not a basic happy ending in my opinion which i liked. Overall this is a good and quick read. Can’t wait to see the movie! A post shared by Rachel | 🇳🇱 (@bookwurmzz) on Jan 19, 2019 at 7:35am PST

What’s it about? Get the tissues. Stella is a teen with cystic fibrosis who has to stay five feet away from everything and everyone to avoid getting an infection before a lifesaving lung transplant. While she’s in hospital, she meets Will – who’s also sick, and who also has a weak immune system. Of course, they fall in love, and their romance puts Stella’s surgery – and life – at risk. Are you bawling yet?
Who’s in it? Colin Sprouse, Haley Lu Richardson, Claire Forlani

What’s it about? Based on a comic series, The Kitchen is about a group of women in 1970s New York whose mafia husbands have landed in prison. Not ones to sit at home and twiddle their thumbs, the resourceful gals decide to take over the biz – and end up being even better at it. I can’t wait to see what the chemistry’s like between this trio of leading ladies. I’m also excited to see Elisabeth Moss play a gangster wife. Quite the change from The Handmaid’s Tale!
Who’s in it? Melissa McCarthy, Tiffany Haddish, Elisabeth Moss

The Sun Is Also A Star by Nicola Yoon is the story of love and self discovery. Daniel and Natasha meet on the day Natasha is getting deported and fall head over heels in love in just a few hours.Together they teach eachother important life lessons and make their lives better in just one day. It is a beautiful story about friendship and finding support and guidance in the most unexpected way. . . Nicola Yoon's writing is so much better in this one as compared to Everything, everything and that perfect epilogue made me very happy. My only problem with this book was the fact that the matter of higher education was taken very lightly. Education should never be taken for granted and everyone should get a worthwhile degree before pursuing their passion. Skipping college should never be an option. Life is unpredictable and your degree will be your safety net. Always remember that. . . . I highly recommend reading this book before the movie comes out on May 17th. What’s it about? Natasha is science whiz and an illegal Jamaican immigrant living in New York. Just as her family is facing deportation, she meets and falls in love with Daniel, the son of Korean shopkeepers. It’s a multicultural love story, and its theme is pretty important in today’s political climate, so I’m interested to see how it’s going to play out on the screen. PS. The movie will be called Everything, Everything.
Who’s in it? Yara Shahidi, Charles Melton

What’s it about? This thriller stars Amy Adams as Anna Fox, a recluse who loves wine but doesn’t like leaving her house much. One day, while she’s spying on her neighbours (#standard), she witnesses a crime through the window. Well, at least she thinks she does, so she has to figure out what’s real, and what’s not…
Who’s in it? Amy Adams, Julianne Moore, Gary Oldman

What’s it about? When you’re looking up movie times, type in The Informer. Based on Three Seconds, it’s about an ex-con who’s recruited by the FBI and goes undercover in prison to try to infiltrate the mob. Being a double agent is dangerous, and he has to come up with a plan to get a pesky prosecutor off his back, and save his family from The General (the big mob boss). The book is set in Stockholm, Sweden, but in the movie, the action takes place in NYC and a few characters have been changed.
Who’s in it? Rosamund Pike, Clive Owen, Joel Kinnaman
In the meantime, watch: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, another Swedish drama/thriller
