Every year a song comes along and we just can’t get it out of our heads. Usually, it’s whatever bop Justin Bieber or Ed Sheeran decided to release that year. And while it may seem like that tune has been bouncing around your noggin for a decade, most mainstream music doesn’t have that staying power. At best it’ll become your go-to karaoke song for the year. However, there are some songs that last a lifetime, or at least a decade. So now that we’re coming to the end of the 2010s, Spotify as wrapped up the most streamed songs of the decade.
In the least surprising twist, Drake topped the most-streamed artists list with over 28 billion overall streams. But don’t dismay, Ed Sheeran fans, everyone’s favourite ginger topped the most-streamed song of the decade with Shape of You.
Spotify also named the bangers we’ve been bopping to all year long and it’s no surprise some of our AMAs favourites are on the list. Billie Eilish‘s Bad Guy had over 990 million streams, making it the second most-streamed song of the year. Eilish herself was the second-most streamed artist but it was Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello who took out number one. Their steamy track Senorita got over one billion streams.
