What’s an overseas vacay without a crazy night out? Boring, that’s what. If you’re anything like us when you land in a new city, you’ll agree that no amount of jetlag will interrupt you from dancing your little heart out at the go-to nightclub in town. A good club has an aura of exclusivity – think exceptionally good-looking people and a never-ending line with a tough as nails bouncer calling the shots. Some places have an ostentatious grandeur to them and others are small, hard-to-find gems. We would be lying if we didn’t acknowledge that good nightclubs are hard to come by these days, with many closing down recently. But there’s still a select number of very cool spots that you have to visit once if you’ve got a trip planned to one of the destinations below. Read on for our insider’s guide of where to get down at.
The hotly awaited opening of this Vegas-style beach club has left tourists for dead. It’s a huge adult playground to enjoy cocktails in sandals (yay a break from heels) and splash out at one of the luxe restaurants before sunset dancing in the humidity.
Bootsy Bellows, Los Angeles
There’s a lot to take in at this hot spot. If you do manage to withstand the long line to get in, you’ll be rubbing shoulders with stars and revelling in the theatrical burlesque, puppets and dancers orbiting you.
Sky Bar at the Mondrian Hotel, Los Angeles
A trip to the City of Angels isn’t complete without visiting this iconic rooftop. Don’t be surprised if you spot the Hadid sisters hanging out here.
This is listed in every travel guide which for good reason, it’s a grungy no f*cks given scene. Insider’s tip: show up after 1am.
There’s no shortage of clubs in Ibiza but this is the only place you’ll lose your mind (lol dad joke). Be prepared to fork out a small fortune for entry and drinks.
Five levels of doof doof, disco and hip hop. You’ll have fun running around until the wee hours of the morning then bailing to get your dirty street kebab before bed.
Bedroom, Gold Coast
There are actual beds and hostesses dressed as playboy bunny’s in this underground den. It’s a little trashy but you’ll have the best time dancing. Insiders tip: check out the bathrooms for a good selfie.
The City, Cancun
A gigantic club renowned for its light shows and concerts by the likes of Fergie and 50 Cent. Be warned, the tequila is strong!
Like everything in Tokyo, crazy is the only way to describe this Japanese disco. It’s a multi-level club with a good mix of RnB, hip hop and trance to cater for everyone.
