Pass on the popcorn and skip the movie. We’ve compiled the perfect list of fun first date ideas, or if you’re already #taken, skip the usual dinner dates and try something new. You can thank us later.
Holey Moley Golf
Channel your inner golfer and head to the greens for a game of putt putt. Except this course is a whole lot groovier than your average place especially when you mix cray obstacles, quirky cocktails and delish food. Not only will you be laughing and having a blast, but you can also bring out your competitive side and show off your golfing skills.
Go on a fancy AF picnic.
Any date involving food is going to be a good one, if the conversation is not going so well, at least your stomach will be happy. If you really want to impress, perhaps try baking some brownies, if not – head to your local bakery and pick up some delish treats. You can even say you baked them, we won’t judge.
Take a walk along the coast.
Head to Bondi to do the iconic 6km walk to Coogee. Live your best East Coast life and finish with a smoothie at Coogee Pavilion. With a heap of spots to take a rest along the way (and catch your breath), there’s no better way to take in all the views.
Cork & Chroma
Show off your #cultured side. Sip wine and create a masterpiece in their fancy studio for a creative night out. You can choose a session that strikes your imagination and you even get to take home your personalised painting to remember the night.
Chase waterfalls in the Blue Mountains.
Just like the song states, don’t go chasing’ waterfalls if you don’t know the guy, BUT if you do, then this is the perfect date idea for you two lovebirds. My personal fave is Wentworth Falls, minimal hike and maximum time spent swimming (bonus points if you pack snacks).
Go retro at the drive-in cinema.
Okay okay, I know I said to skip the movies – but this one is different, I promise. Pack some blankets and head to the drive-ins. They’ve got a retro diner where you literally feel like you’ve stepped back in time while sipping on your malted milkshake.

@brisbanefestival is in its final week and what a blast it’s been! Get yourself down to #TreasuryArcadiaBrisbane on these last few days for an #OriginalVodka Frozé with strawberries, or our spin on the Espresso Martini – the Caffeinated Crooner with cold-pressed coffee, or a #whiterye Queen of the Desert with ginger beer and mint. Refreshing! Pop down to The Box on Thursday at 5pm for a tasting of our range of spirits with our man @philipgandevia, he’ll help you farewell the festival in style 👋🏻 🍸 #archierose
Go Gin tasting @ Archie Rose
Dress to impress for a day of drinking and learning all about gin. After you’ve become educated in the art of the much-loved beverage, you can sit back and relax whilst enjoying a sweet treat at the bar from Black Star Pastry.
Go Kayaking around Sydney Harbour
We live in one of the best cities in the world and with so much to explore and see, why not do something super spontaneous! With so many places to hire from, the places you can go are endless. Pack your fave sunglasses and a cute brim hat to complete your look.
Watch the stars at Sydney Observatory
Live your best life and head to the Observatory to watch the stars before your eyes on their nighttime tours. Head to a bar after for some champagne to keep the night on a dreamy high.
Grab your favourite ice-cream and head to a lookout.
This easy date idea is perfect for a mid-week catch-up. My personal fave is Messina, but let’s be real, any ice-cream will do. Places like Cremorne point, the Royal Botanic Gardens and Giba park are winners in our eyes.
