We made it! The end of the week is here and it’s time to catch up on everything you’ve been too busy to care about.
We kicked off the week with fashion’s night of nights, The Met Gala and the arrival of Baby Sussex. So without further adieu, let’s wrap up the week that was.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry had a baby boy!
After what feels like the world’s longest (and most anticipated) pregnancy, The Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle gave birth to a baby boy on Monday.

Today The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are delighted to share their first public moment as a family. They are so incredibly grateful for the warm wishes and support they’ve received from everyone around the world, since welcoming their son two days ago. Photo cred: Chris Allerton ©️SussexRoyal
Like everything they do, Meghan and Harry’s naming of their first born child slightly waivered from royal tradition (i.e. recycling the same five names). Named, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, the newborn is the eighth great-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II and is seventh in line for the throne.
While it’s unlikely we’ll ever have a King Archie, that didn’t stop the internet from reacting to the youngster’s name, churning out some hilarious memes in the process.

Prince George watching yall STILL not put the name Archie in the bookies after he gave yall the hint back in January pic.twitter.com/uw9hkWJm92

That last tweet is particularly hilarious because way back in January, five-year-old Prince George leaked the name to press. Stupidly, not a single one of us listened so we can’t cash in a winning bet on the name.
Celebs went camping at the 2019 Met Gala
On Monday celebs flocked to the steps of The Met dressed in their finery for the 71st Annual Met Gala. This year the theme was ‘Camp: Notes on Fashion’ and honestly, it’s probably the best theme since the Gala started in 1948.
Dressed in over the top, extravagant creations, our faves of the night include Billy Porter, Kacey Musgraves, Em Rata and Kim Kardashian.
Speaking of Kimmy K, it took four people to get her into that wet look Thierry Mugler dress. Kim pulled the designer out of retirement to make her custom gown which took eight months to create. You can read our deep dive into the details of the dress including how Kim got that now iconic waist, right here.
Katy Perry cancelled the word ‘lit’
For someone who was arguably quite ‘lit’ on Monday night, Katy Perry has announced that particular word is dead.
Attending the Met Gala dressed as a chandelier, she was told she was “looking lit tonight” by reporters, Katy responded by saying her look intended to end the word lit.
The dress was made from thousands of Swarovski crystals, 18 steel bones and two hidden battery packs. So whether she likes the word or not, Katy Perry was literally lit.
Later, the songstress changed outfits and attended the afterparty in a giant hamburger suit. I don’t know why. I think it has something to do with #farshun.
The world just gained two more Kardashians
For the first time ever, Madame Tussauds has brought the whole wax Kardashian-Jenner family (not Rob, obvs) together so
people with too much time on their hands fans can see them all at once. Normally wax figures struggle to look like the real deal but the ones of Kris and Kourtney are freakishly accurate.
Olivia Culpo just dragged every male celeb
This week in “men are trash” we’re giving Tristan Thompson a bit of a break and focusing a couple of other married/taken celebs.
On The Jenny McCarthy Show Culpo said, “You know how many people I wanna just out? Nothing irks me more than when someone slides in my DMs. First of all, that’s my No. 1 red flag that I’m never gonna date you, and second of all, if you have a girlfriend or a wife and you are sliding in my DMs, I am going to put you on blast”.
Culpo said she had to fight the urge to out them publicly and message their wives. Personally, I think it’s classy that she didn’t. However, I’d be lying if I told you I wasn’t curious about who is on the list.
The revelation comes just after her ex posted this extremely trashy (and since deleted) rant about her on Insta.

One word: ugh.
