It’s all well and good to have an insta feed full of the latest offerings from Gucci and Dior; but a bitch has gotta eat, and unless you’re rolling in the $$$, us average lasses really can’t afford the stuff in our feed.
Working at Showpo, I’m obvs a lover of penny-saving styles, which is why I’m currently obsessed with this lemon-printed, linen dress. So bomb and it happens to retail for less than $50… 😱😍 So I decided to go on a worldwide hunt (from my couch), for the best budget bloggers spreading the word about fashionable finds that won’t cost you a down payment on a Sydney studio (and that shit is exPANsive).
Created by a brunette beauty called Prue, A Broke Girl’s Blog showcases a bunch of go-to, affordable shopping destinations. Based in QLD, Australia; Prue’s style is evocative of the street-girl vibes often found in our northern state. Plus, she posts funny memes on the reg so we love her.
New Yorker’s are often culprits in overpriced fashion, which is why we love this lass so much! Her blog is really informative and she strives to keep all the items featured under $100. If she does highlight an item that is more expensive she explains why it’s a worthwhile and versatile investment.
‘Champagne lifestyle on a beer budget’ pretty much sums up my entire life, so I already love this chick without meeting her! She regularly posts about different trends and what she thinks of them/how she styles them etc – which I think is really helpful.
Tiffany actually changed my retail life with this one piece of advice…“Stick to white pieces that have structure or texture (i.e. eyelet lace, linen, silk) to keep them from looking cheap”. My mind is effectively blown as white fabric getting gross and cheap looking after one wear is the bane of my existence. Make sure you check out her blog for a bunch of other amazing tips!
Funnily enough, I Heart Bargains is a page dedicated to, you guessed it, BARGAINS! But they’re actual bargains (like all under $100 price point bargains), not ‘bargains’ that still cost more than your rent. She is all for treating yourself, which always gets the big nod from me.
I am ub-SESSED with this blog! If you ever see a celeb wearing something poppin’ and think ‘gosh I’d love to buy that outfit but alas, I am not a multi-millionaire’, check out The Budget Babe. Featuring OODLES of top celeb looks and the budget-friendly dupes you can order from your couch.
City Meets The Shore
Confessing a sense of style that is ‘urban/edgy/boho/beachy-messy-hair-beer-drinking-mess’; Alyssa is effortlessly cool and is the girl everyone wants to be. Her feed has major hipster vibes and she loves beer – she actually couldn’t get any cooler.
Guys, I’m not sure about you but my teachers were never this cool. In fact, saying they mostly dressed like dags would be giving them too much credit. This Aussie teacher absolutely SLAYS her style game and I am obsessed with the range of prints she’s curated, can I come raid Alex?
Follow her on insta here!
Omg this FEED. 🤤🤤🤤 The blog is a mix of chic, feminine styles, that are affordable, attainable and on-trend (with a pop of luxury in between). She focuses on fast-fashion which is perfect for those who shop cheaply exclusively!
She Does Style
Denim ✔️ Graphic tees ✔️Stripes ✔️ Pops of red ✔️Gingham ✔️ Tousled hair ✔️ Oversized jackets ✔️ = Yup, she’s officially trendy! Emily’s a self-confessed shopaholic and her feed boasts a bunch of old faithfuls and newbies on the reg. We’re fangirling.
99% of her wardrobe is pre-loved and she gives the BEST tips and insider tricks on getting the best deals and where the best op shop bargains are.
I love, love, LOVE this blog! Such a great design and even better content. Perfect for learning how to shop smarter, dress better, work more efficiently, live healthier, and stay up-to-date on everything new — regardless of your income.
Lindsay started her blog back in 2007 as a way to share sales on designer clothes with her friends (what a pal). It’s now one of the coolest budget-friendly blogs on the web.
Accessible style advice, thrift shop shopping tips, and easy ways to make cheap look chic; Patrice never pays retail price and her blog is brimming with ways you can adopt her savvy methods.
This loveable lass has such a pretty feed, filled with details of texture, colours and patterns, I’m obsessed. On her blog, she not only offers budget tips for gals but for blokes too!
Chic On The Cheap
I really like that Lydia posts every detail you could want to know about her outfit, which is really helpful. So she won’t just say ‘dress from H&M’ as an example, she’ll put the price and link in too. Nothing is more annoying than scrolling through pages of styles looking for the one you double tapped on insta!
The name says it all, how DID Carrie afford 40 pairs on Manolo Blahnik’s on a journo’s salary? And let’s not forget the bags, dresses, jewels etc…🤔 Anyway, Kathleen finds her readers the best stuff at affordable prices and she’s got a really infectious personality too.
This chick makes me SWOON, what a boss! Or baller as she rightly refers to herself as. The queen of finding the perfect dupes (without being tacky and buying a fake), her story is really humbling and inspiring.
Ok, so I’m seriously envious of Brandi’s constant adventures that she always does in style. The girl has a serious case of wanderlust and if I hadn’t bought a new designer bag last week, I’d probably be able to too. 🙄*Kelly, when will you learn.
Savannah is a lover of statement earrings, a good pair of jeans and an endless supply of shoes – making her relatable AF. She also does lifestyle posts so if you’re into interiors, you’ll love her sick.
Oh, you’re into colour you said? Prepare to be awestruck by Marie’s fun and fearless approach to fashion. She doesn’t shy away from any colour or any trend and it’s bloody inspiring. She will also make you want to dye your hair pink.
