Kylie Jenner is best known as the youngest member of the infamous Kardashian-Jenner clan. The reality star turned beauty mogul is one of the 10 most followed people on Instagram, owner of the uber-successful Kylie Cosmetics, and mother to a baby girl we’d love to squeeze, Stormi Webster.
It’s embarrassing to admit, but many of us are pretty darn obsessed with the Kardashian-Jenner clan, even those who have never even watched the reality TV show which made them the most famous family in the world. I don’t know about you but Kylie Jenner is the most fascinating to me; so if you, like me are mildly obsessed with the 21yo juggernaut, I’ve popped everything you could ever google below…
Birthday: 10 August 1997
Star sign: Leo
Middle name: Kristen
Instagram: @kyliejenner but you probably already knew that. In 2018, Kylie was named one of the 10 most followed people on Instagram, with over 100 million followers, mostly suckers who live for the reality star’s daily updates, like you, who is reading this article and I, who wrote it.
Snapchat: kylizzlemynizzl is one of Snapchat’s most popular users. She made Snapchat cool. The dreamy filters, the selfies, the lip colour swatches up her inner arm – we lived for every update and the world soon followed, with every girl doing exactly the same thing. Then earlier this year, Kylie tweeted the following:
And Snapchat’s stock fell by roughly $1.5 billion. That’s a whole lot of cash, and proves just how influential Kylie Jenner really is. I don’t open Snapchat anymore though, do you?
Kylie started dating rapper Travis Scott (his Instagram is @travisscott if you want to have a stalk) in April 2017, and the pair welcomed their first daughter in February of this year. Other memorable moments in their relationship include getting matching butterfly tattoos (hers is on her right ankle and his is on his left ankle, in case you were wondering) and his song, Butterfly Effect, which is reportedly about the star.
Stormi Webster, now eight months old, was born on 1 February 2018. Kylie hid her pregnancy for the entire nine months, and left fans with bated breath. “Where has she gone? Are the rumours true? Was that really a cot being delivered to her house?” I don’t know about you but it was a tough few months of continually refreshing my Instagram feed and E! News for updates, for which there were next to none.
A few days after Stormi’s birth, Kylie broke her silence and announced the birth of her daughter with a picture that quickly racked up over 13 million likes and broke Instagram’s “most-liked” record of the time (and people say the Kardashian-Jenner family don’t have any talent?) Thankfully she also gave us this video to satisfy our baby bump needs, as well as a heartfelt apology.
How could you be mad at her after that?
We first met Kylie Jenner on Season 1 of Keeping Up With The Kardashians as a super innocent, baby-faced ten-year-old. We’ve got 15 seasons, 1 spin-off (The Life of Kylie which premiered in August 2017), a few mLs of filler and many sold out Lip Kits to thank for the Kylie we know and love today.
Kylie appeared on the August 2018 cover of Forbes magazine, where they estimated she had a net worth of $900 million and was on track to become the youngest self-made billionaire, all thanks to Kylie Cosmetics. Seriously impressive.
Kylie launched Kylie Cosmetics in 2016 after the wild success of her liquid lipstick and lip liner duo, the Kylie Lip Kit. And unless you’ve been living under a rock, you would have seen the swatches she posts to social media, from the perfect nude hues to totally out-there shades. She soon expanded her range to include Kyshadow, Kyliner, Kylighter and more. Could her name be more perfect for make-up?
Kylie Jenner is the queens of lips, be it Lip Kits, lip challenges or lip fillers, and the world can’t get enough of what she’s got. She may have denied the fillers for a good while (why?) but she soon came clean and now lip fillers are almost as common as lip gloss. Whether you’re for or against cosmetic procedures, you certainly can’t deny that she’s started a social phenomenon.
In 2015, the Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge was everywhere. You insert your lips into a small jar or bottle, suck out the air and create a plump/swollen pout. It was weird but fascinating.
Most recently, she took us by surprise once again when she announced she dissolved all her filler. I’m all for natural Kylie.
