What Products Do We Swear By?

Find out what beauty products the Showpo crew can't live without!

One of my favourite (and creepiest) things to do is hunt through my gal pals makeup bags.

I’m just always so curious as to what beauty products they HAVE to have on them at all times. I want to know what Kylie Lip Kit they have. If they’re a NARS or Tarte type of gal. You know?

This curiosity also lends itself to their top tips, ‘you do WHAT with concealer?!’

So I’ve asked the Showpo girls to gift me with their top tips and prods so I can now share them with you too! Cos’ I tell you, you’ve never seen such an array of perfect pouts, top knots and winged flicks till you’ve stepped foot in Showpo HQ.

Fave Prod: Aqua Seal by Make Up For Ever.

“This is killer for makeup at the beach or pool. Mix a few drops with your foundation to make it a waterproof formula or use as an eyeshadow base so the pigments on your lids don’t stray. Fun fact; it was originally designed for the Cirque du Soleil water ballet performers!”

Beauty tip:

“I buy men’s razors as I swear they give a closer shave!”

Fave prod: “I have two – Ultraceuticals UV Protective Daily Moisturiser and UC Mineral Tint; I mix them together every morning to use (instead of foundation), as they give me great coverage and also protect my skin from the sun. I have a spare bottle of each in my beach bag so my skin always looks naturally smooth and is always protected.”
Beauty tip: “For a natural highlight option you should already have in your handbag; use Pawpaw ointment not only on your lips, but on your upper cheekbones and eyebrow arch for a natural glow.”

Fave prod: Youngblood Mineral Powder. It mixes with your own skin oils to create a foundation like finish so your skin still breathes. The ultimate pizza face prevention.”

Fave prod: “Darphin’s Aromatic Purifying Balm is a lifesaver after a big night! Cleanse, tone and moisturise as per normal and then finish by smearing on some of this bad boy. It’s an overnight detoxifying treatment which leaves your skin looking glowy and fresh the next day (even if you’re not).”

Beauty tip: “I don’t really like wearing heaps of makeup, so to camouflage any skin imperfections and brighten under-eye circles, I pop on the RMS Beauty ‘Un’ Cover-Up. Not only will this concealer change your life but the formula actually heals and nourishes your skin.”

Fave prod: “Hands down the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Dry Oil. I apply it all over my skin for a really soft texture with slight shimmer. I also pop it through the ends of my hair as it repairs the ends and smooths the frizziness. PLUS, it smells so good!”

Fave prod: “Omg I recently got this liquid lipstick and am OBSESSED! The colour is perfect.”
Beauty tip: “Girls with darker skin tones (like me) should always wear bold lips! The colours really pop and make the colour look really effective.”
Fave prod: “Loose Pigment from Mac; I love this as an eyeshadow to make my eyes pop. You can just use a bit for a light wash of colour or build up the intensity.”

Fave prod: Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer – it’s a bloody miracle worker! Great for contouring, hiding blemishes or my under-eye bags.”
Fave prod: Kat Von D Tattoo Eyeliner is SO good for a cat eyeliner look and it’s really easy to apply.”
Beauty tip: “For people that have short eyelashes (i.e: Asians!), curl your eyelashes with an eyelash curler before putting on your first coat of mascara. Then get some loose powder on a small brush and dab it onto your lashes, before another coat of mascara. They will be wayyyy longer.”
Fave prod: For natural brows (not carved AF brows), you can’t look past  Benefit 3D Brow Enhancer. Perfect for lazy gals, just one swipe and you’re done! It’s my go-to in the morning before work.”
Beauty tip: “Don’t bleach your own hair. You might get away with it a few times, but when it goes wrong it goes really wrong. You will regret those baby tufts where your hair used to be.”

Fave prod: “Bronzer. I love looking like a bronzed goddess, 9-5. The Hourglass Bronzer in Radiant Light is my absolute holy grail.”

Beauty tip: “To keep your face from slipping down the ol’ decolletage, you need to BAKE! It will actually change your life. It sets and highlights at the same time. RCMA No-Color Powder – get on it.”

Beauty tip: “Always do your makeup in good lighting. I also love to do the selfie test at the end to make sure it looks good on camera ? “
Fave prod: “I’m 100% obsessed with oils and my holy grail is the Clarins Blue Orchard Face Treatment Oil. It keeps my face hydrated overnight, leaving it smooth and soft for makeup application in the morning. A little bit of shine takes years off your face!”
Beauty tip: “For the best and easiest makeup removal, I use coconut oil. Oil removes oil! It’s inexpensive, natural and takes off waterproof mascara. I use round cotton face buds to remove all traces of makeup and then chase it with coconut water as a natural toner. My motto is ‘if you can’t eat it, you shouldn’t be putting it on your skin’.”

Fave prod: “Zoe Foster did REAL good with her Go-To Pinky-Nudey Lips; the formula is epic and colour is perfect for work.”
Beauty tip: “Comb through your lashes before applying mascara,  it separates the lashes and stops clumps from forming.”

Fave prod: Better Than Sex Mascara by Too Faced makes my lashes so foxy when I barely have any.”
Beauty tip: “After you’ve pencilled in your eyebrows, go around the edges with a light concealer to make them really sharp.”

Fave prod: “I really love it when products can be used for multiple purposes, which is why I love Star Light Loose Eye Dust from Napoleon Perdis. It can be used as an eyeshadow and a highlighter! Makes me glow, I’m obsessed.” ?
Beauty tip: “Nothing beats a good nights sleep!”
