We live in an exciting time where every day we see brand new lotions and potions being dropped into the market, all promising an array of weird and wonderful things. These are the 12 newbies that have impressed me so far this year (and given it’s only mid-Feb, who knows what fab things will launch!)!
Jeffree Star Lip Ammunition In Sinister
The most devilishly delicious plum-y deep wine shade – I really wish JS wasn’t such a pest of a person as his products really are pretty damn great.
Bondi Sands 1-Hour Express Tan
I mean, surely you knew I was going to mention this bad boy right!? We started off with formulas that took 10 hours to develop and the results were questionably orange and streaky with a rather pungent odour that lingered. Now we have a formula that takes 1-2 hours to develop and leaves a natural, bomb-ass colour – It’s flippin’ fantastic!
Cinch Face It
This product will actually change your humdrum attitude about cleansing! Face It is a 5-in-1 micellar water (so basically, the NEW GENERATION of the must-have prod). This hardworking little beauty removes all non-waterproof makeup from your face, lips and eyes and gently cleanses in one simple step. It also tones, balances and gently exfoliates the skin. Experience immediate hydration whilst the gentle fruit acids leave your skin with a subtle glow. No rinsing required, could not be easier to use.
Ella Bache Sculpting Serum
Brand spanking new on the market, I haven’t had it long enough to have seen results but the research speaks for itself (so I’m obvs excited AF). In their study, 9/10 women found their facial features to be visibly firmer after using this product over just 14 days, which is pretty phenom. I’m going to use it on my jowls which seem to sag a wee bit more every dang year.
Maybelline Curvitude Liner
OMG you guys, this has legit solved my liquid liner woes, as the shape of the pen/brush makes it impossible to eff up.
Blistex Ultra Lip Balm 50+
Yes, you read that correctly, this lip balm has 50+ SPF protection which is PERFECT for those who are prone to cold sores as they are more likely to rear their ugly heads on burnt, chapped lips.
IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Airbrush Perfecting Powder SPF 50+
You’ve probably heard me bang on about the cream version of this prod before (it’s actually amazing and all my pals are now converted) so I was super excited to try the powder version. It is BEAUTIFUL on top of the cream and perfect for days when you’re after a bit more coverage but don’t want a full blown coat of foundation.
Real Techniques Mini Brushes
I think these are SUCH a great idea. I for one, HATE taking too much stuff to the gym in the morning and if you take makeup brushes they always take up so much room. These new brushes have the full-sized heads on mini bases so you can basically fit double the amount. Bloody brill.
Ole Henriksen Truth Serum
Whenever gals want more of a ‘glow’, I always recommend using skincare with vitamin c in the formula. Like a daily multivitamin for the skin, this powerful age-defying serum helps brighten and firm, while delivering all-day hydration and a ‘lit from within’ glow.
Models Own Aquaproof Eyeshadow Palette
I really didn’t know how ‘aquaproof’ eyeshadow would work but it’s because the formula is actually a creamy base rather than powder so the water sort of ht it’s it and is repealed (if that makes any sense). So it’s kinda like oil without being oily… yup,l still not making any sense. All I know is that you can actually pack these pigments on your lids prior to having a dip and unless you rub your eyes after, it won’t budge. I’m not the type of gal who wants a full-blown smokey eye at the beach, but I completely get the appeal n being able to swipe a bit of shimmer on before a pool party.
Blemish Healing Patches
One thing I hate about topical acne treatments is that the surrounding skin of the affected area is often left kinda dry and scabby (hot). These little patches are placed directly on top of the spot and work their magic. They come in baby sizes for the little spots and big ones for those giant ass suckers, which set up camp for a good week.
The Body Shop Japanese Matcha Tea Pollution Clearing Mask
Enriched with matcha green tea (super trendy ATM), dandelion extract and aloe vera; this indulgently creamy, 100% vegan mask deeply purifies and gently exfoliates your skin from the weekly build-up of city pollutants and everyday impurities. It smells healthy AF and is a really fun green shade for #selfies.
