We all know that one girl who has had their wedding day planned basically since the day they were born (it’s me). However, not everyone knows exactly what their dream wedding looks like and being bombarded with ideas from your friends, family or wedding planner doesn’t always help. If you’re planning on tying the knot in 2019, take a little inspiration from our list of the top five wedding trends worth considering for your big day.
Ever since Pantone named ‘Living Coral’ as the colour of 2019, the bright, sunny, pinky-orange hue has been a wedding favourite. Add a pop of coral to your own nuptials with some brightly coloured blooms, decor accents or even bridesmaids gowns.

Bridesmen and Groomsmaids
Gone are the days of girls on the left, boys on the right. More and more often, brides are recruiting their nearest and dearest to be a part of their bride tribe, regardless of gender. Bridesmen, groomsmaids, best women, mates of honour and even flower grandmas are bending the status quo of traditional wedding parties. After all, the gender of your best pal isn’t nearly as important as their support on your big day.
Bringing the outdoors in
You can thank Meghan Markle for this trend. Ever since the Duchess of Sussex’s wedding last year, greenery continues to be a classic go-to for indoor weddings. Floral accents and foliage elevate the ambience of your ceremony and are a beautiful way to tie your ceremony and reception together. If you want to keep your colour scheme a bit more neutral but are still inspired by the floral trend, pampas grass is a great choice.
Minimalist wedding dresses
Another trend courtesy of the Duchess is the return of the minimalist wedding dress. Classic silhouettes and clean lines are trending as well as Bateaux-neck gowns and bracelet sleeved. Halter neck dresses are also making a comeback a la Ms Markle’s reception dress so if you’re planning on an outfit change, this is your go-to style.
Let’s be honest, aside from eagerly awaited online shopping orders, wedding invitations are probably the only form of mail you get nowadays. Add that little bit extra to your invites by commissioning your own hand-drawn design. There’s so much you can do with an illustrated invites. Work with an artist to create a portrait of you and your partner or give guests a sneak peek of your venue with a bespoke sketch.
