It’s all in the drape

A cowl neck folds and pools softly at the front (and sometimes the back, an unexpected plot twist), and the depth of that drape sets the entire mood. High and gentle reads sweet-girl-next-door; a low or backless one reads I have plans. Fabric is where cowls flex hardest: satin and silk pour like liquid, a sequin cowl is a disco ball you can wear, and a soft knit version is a hug with a neckline.
